Matt Knabe is one of the founding partners at Englander Knabe & Allen (2004) and he specializes in political consulting, government relations and issues and communications strategy.
Prior to joining EKA, Matt spent time at a large publicly traded PR Firm in Los Angeles and 8 years at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Before that, Matt cut his teeth running political campaigns for many different elected officials at the local, state and federal level.
Matt’s greatest strength is the depth of his relationships at Los Angeles County and the 88 cities within the County. He is very involved in County politics as well as both Contract Cities and the Independent Cities Associations. It is hard to find someone with better interaction and access to local city managers, staff and elected officials than Matt. He is known for his sound advice in the changing political landscape and working client issues the right way from beginning to end.
In addition to his work, Matt is very involved in giving back to the community and believes strongly that everyone has the obligation to do so. Matt is currently the President of the Paramount Education Project. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the US VETS, United States Golf Local Leagues, Children Today and The Red Shoe Society at the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House. He has served on numerous other boards in his career.
Born and raised in Cerritos, CA, Matt currently resides in Long Beach, California with his wife, Briana and their two young children. A graduate of Pepperdine University in 1996, where he majored in Political Science, Matt was also a 4-year member of the Pepperdine University Men’s Golf Team.
