Douglas Rose is an attorney and public affairs/government consultant, providing strategic advice to clients on litigation and crisis communications and public, media and governmental affairs. Doug served for 26 years as a Deputy District Attorney for the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, the sixth largest prosecutor’s office in the nation. During his tenure he tried over 150 cases, ranging from fraud to murder, to a jury verdict. Doug worked not only in the courtroom, but managed media and stakeholder relationships for cases in which he was involved. Doug’s assignments during his prosecutorial career focused on from fraud, high-tech crime, and organized auto theft. He also held various leadership positions in the office and the Deputy District Attorneys’ Association, and was a member of the association’s contract negotiation team.
Doug also has extensive experience regarding public employee pensions, having served 12 years as an elected trustee and two years as the elected chairman of the $10 Billion San Diego County Retirement Association. In addition, Doug served for two years as the President of the State Association of California Retirement Systems, an association of 20 California county retirement systems which takes a role in the legislative process on pension issues and provides education on investment and fiduciary duties for member systems.
Doug resides in Sebastopol, California and is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a degree in History, and the Southwestern School of Law.
